Alkaline Diet And Obesity, Disease And Prevention

Despite America's growing awareness about the obesity epidemic of our times, despite the countless new and "phat" diets on the health and wellness scene and despite the writings on the wall, almost 17% of all the deaths reported in America every year are a direct (or indirect) result of poor diet and lack of exercise.
So why is it that Americans (more than ever) are getting fatter and sicker? Clearly, the diets and exercise regimes offered are not working!

So, then, what can one do? Is there a diet that works and is compatible with our every day lives? Fortunately, there is! A properly balanced alkaline diet is the answer.

The body has a pH level of 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. Acidic foods, lack of exercise and stress can lead to acid waste being stored in your body. This in turn causes your body to malfunction and your health to deteriorate.

An alkaline diet will teach you how to change your diet to restore the alkaline levels in your bloodstream and balance your pH levels. You cannot expect to feel good and be healthy if you drink juices and sodas high in sugar or eat a lot of fruit that has a high sugar content. Alcohol, coffee, tea and soft drinks all disturb the pH levels in your body. You should substitute these beverages with ionized water.

Vegetables like potatoes, pastas and breads and other starchy foods are turned into sugar in your body; the sugar produces acid waste that is stored in the body. Even dairy products contain concentrated sugar that breaks down into lactic acid that also leads to acid waste. Animal protein found in beef, lamb, pork and chicken all lead to huge amounts of acid waste and can disrupt the normal pH levels of your body

However, it is not only food that can disrupt the pH levels in your body. You have to exercise daily to prevent the acids from building up in the tissues in your body. The stored acid can lead to fat being stored in the cells, energy levels to drop and you will be tired all the time.

Eat as much natural unprocessed foods as you can. Include alkalizing green foods in your daily diet. They have all the minerals, vitamins and other nutrients your body needs to restore and maintain its natural pH levels. Drink lots of pH alkaline water and start a daily exercise program. Exercise breaks down the stored acid in your body and you will soon experience the benefits of your new lifestyle.
